The time has finally come – asparagus season has begun.
Since April 4, 2025, we have been harvesting fresh asparagus every day.

From now on you can get fresh white and green asparagus in our farm shop.

🌱 Asparagus cultivation on the Wißbrock farm

Harvesting asparagus is a real handcraft – and we do it every day with great experience and care. Our white and green asparagus grows directly in the fields surrounding our farm in Versmold-Bockhorst.

Through targeted cultivation, modern care technology and regular quality controls, we offer you fresh asparagus of the best farm quality - from the first picking in April to St. John's Day in June .

We harvest fresh daily, carefully sort by hand, and sell directly from the farm or at our market stalls. The taste: delicate, aromatic, and regional.

Asparagus cultivation – white & green

On our farm we grow both white and green asparagus – two varieties, one family, but with different characteristics:

White asparagus grows underground and is picked as soon as it breaks through the soil. It is considered particularly tender and aromatic—a true spring vegetable.

Green asparagus grows above ground and develops its characteristic color through exposure to sunlight. It contains higher levels of vitamins C, E, K , and beta-carotene , and is low in calories and light.

Both varieties come from special cultivations and are cultivated by hand. Harvesting begins in mid-April, depending on the weather, and traditionally ends on June 24th .
